If you look at this link below it says Nafferton is about to become active again. You might want to contact the local planning authority to see what the chances are.
http://www.dlpconsultants.co.uk/planning/news_detail.php?id=255
Am I the only one who thinks its odd that Neil Osborne / Osborn is on the board of the Profitable Group while running around as a “consultant” advising customers . Also its interesting from the same news item that Profitable Plots are investing in Hotels at the same time they had planning permission refused on yet another Colchester site for a Hotel. Planning app 073130 – see this link below for some great reasons why this didnt happen..
http://www.planning.colchester.gov.uk/WAM/findCaseFile.do?appNumber=073130
I wonder who is buying “Profitable” Hotel plots – not me 🙂

just as an update of my experience, i received a letter in 2007 from PP sigapore offering me a transfer land plot on concord village or money back. decided it was all too dodgy and asked for my money back which im just waiting for the cheque to clear. if everthing goes to plan i feel i had a lucky escape as reading so many land bank scams people have lost there investment.

Hi Abby
Well done on getting your refund. Hounslow does not look a great investment as Hounslow council have said there is little or no chance of planning permission being approved.
Do you live in the UK ? I am wondering if people who are not from the UK are getting their money back on plots. Also would you mind saying which area plots you bought and are being refunded ? Nafferton, Colchester or Hounslow ? It would be good for everyone here to know which plots are now “dead” in case somebody else perhaps tries to sell them again.

my plot was in nafferton. and yes i live in the uk. i spoke with pp in singapore at length, and the lady explained that they went to court and were ordered to give uk investors a refund or exchange to hounslow. foreign investors i dont think would be covered but that is only my opinion-probably worth checking out if you are a foreign investor. probably why pp have moved abroad cos far less legislations and cover for the investors. anybody that is thinking of investing with any land banking company do your research. from what iv read on the internet not sure if any investor has ever seen a return on there money. an awful lot of land banking companies seem to have gone bankrupt or shut down-and alot of investors have lost there money. thankfully the investors dealing with pp should have gained there money back-think we were very lucky!

URGENT!! HELP PLEASE!!!
Thanks for your sharing! Profitable Plot just started their business in Hong Kong and some of my family and fds bought a plot of land in England and paying a lot of money. The company is new, and i am not sure am i falling in a trap or not. You have any idea? People seem to believe everything….would you mind helping me by replying this email? Thanks a lot!

Abskey
I bet that you are very happy that you got your money back.
Have you seen what happened to UKLI ? 69 million pounds invested in 5000 plots and the company failed. Many people have lost most or all of their money.
When you look at the reports on the UKLI website some people invested over 100,000 Pounds.
That is a lot of money to lose

Appalled that PP’s Malaysian office add is at Level 22 Menara StanChart KL similar to an investment co: Boston Asset Mgt Pte Ltd add at Level 22.2 could be linked.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of them, they hv a Forex Praetorian Fund & a Wealth Building & preservation Fund promising returns of 12% & 15% annually respectively.
How bout Edgeworth that claims they’re doing development banking & not land banking?
Have invested into these stuff in M’sia, just concerned that it might turn out like PP. Thanks

I just seen an advertisement by Profitable Plot being shown in the Astro Channel in Malaysia last week, right during the half time interval of the English Premier League when they aired commercials. If there are scams involved, why did the local authorities allow this company continue to get access to the viewers.
Is there anything, you investors could do to prevent others from making the same mistakes?

I too invested in the Colchester site and was offered a refund. After similar conversations with a very helpful lady in Singapore, and similar initial concerns about letting go of the deed (made some calls to the council and to a lawyer), we just got the cheque in the mail a few weeks ago (much to our amazement). Feeling very very lucky that we managed to avoid a total loss of our investment funds. I have a little more faith in Profitable Plots as a company now but still won’t be looking at land banking again.

Hello Shannon
Though I am somewhat late following this up [ I have been out of the UK for a while and only returned 2 months ago ] I have since found out that my Plot Purchase in Colchester [ along with so many others] seems worthless since P P went into liquidation. I was so encouraged to read that you got your investment returned . Can I trouble you to let me know how you managed it . Thank you so much
Richard

Only my opinion but i really would avoid at all costs. Its a brillant business model from the companies point of view-buy a piece of land at next to nothing, get loads of investors to buy pieces of 5mx5m plots which individually you can do nothing with, raise the firm millions of pounds, they prob live the high life for a few years then the company goes bankrupt-mmmmmmm strange that. Just look at how many firms that has happened to in the uk then ask yourself did any of those investors win?
If your thinking of investing just think a little more out of the box and do your own research-dont take everything the sales guys tell you for face value.
Advertising on tv i think proves nothing. Something else to think about-if pp have a sound business model, why would they up heave from the uk, shut down there branches and websites for months at a time, then offer all the investors there money back or an exchange, surely they have left the uk for a reason.

You are better off investing in a public company like Genesis Land Development Corp. Website is;http://www.genesislandinvestments.com/LPLP-Index.php

Wong Chee Fatt was it Profitable Plots or Profitable Group advertising in Malaysia ? Reason I ask is that the Profitable Plots web site seems to be down now – at least from Singapore (i know they set it so you cant see from the UK).
Profitable Group has been running adverts on Channel News Asia in Singapore. If it was Profitable Plots in Malaysia you should be aware of this.
http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v3/news.php?id=367182
“KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 24 (Bernama) — The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) today raided three companies suspected of offering investments in illegal land investment schemes.
The raids were conducted simultaneously at the UK Land International (M) Sdn Bhd, Profitable Plots Sdn Bhd and Edgeworth Properties (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
The companies had allegedly contravened sections 94 and 363 of the Companies Act 1965 ……………….”

Shannon are you a UK resident ? I am interested if they are offering refunds to people outside of the UK.

The Concorde Village site in hounslow seems to be active but the name has changed to Feltham Lakes.
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/position_on_green_belt_and_lower#outgoing-17880
Its interesting that the investors are paranoid about being scammed and local Hounslow residents think the Green Belt is being destroyed.
The truth will no doubt emerge in time.
There is a recent press item here

A forum discussion here

the address that PP had on record for me was the address that they used to contact me by post. They sent me a letter stating that they had gone into liquidation but the courts had ruled that they had to offer uk investors a choice between their money back or an exchange to the houslow site. Have you moved address since you purchased and not registered the new address with PP, you should have received a letter the same as all the investors? You have missed the closing date which was about a year ago, but it may be something you could follow up with a soliciter, or i would try contacting PP abroad first and see if you get any response. I dont have any of the contact details anymore, i threw them away, maybe Shannon might have some? It was a singapore office that i dealt with, and i did receive my full initial investment back so it is worth persuing.
